Street Scene in Tuleta, about 1910
Comments by Lefty:
This old photograph of downtown shows some recognizable landmarks. The building in the
foreground on the left side of the street is about where Black's grocery store stood in the 1950's and
1960's and may be the same building, extensively remodeled.. The two story building behind it was a
hotel in 1910, but it was still standing in the 1950's when I was living in Tuleta. At that time, the hotel was used a residence
by a family called Rawlins. The old hotel was torn down some time in the 1960's.
The oak trees down at the end of the street in the background are still there and I remember climbing them as a boy.
Here is a street scene from Google Earth which shows downtown Tuleta in 2013.
