2013: It's Gonna Be A Long Year

I watched an old 1939 newsfilm on TV awhile back. When Hitler came to power with his socialist party and took over quite a number of small countries, these were good decent mostly farming people who basically lived off the land.

Hitler passed a law that all would have to register their firearms. Being good folks they complied with the law.

In a short while a heavy military vehicle containing 4 or 5 armed SS troops with an officer carrying a clipboard with each gun owner and the list of all his guns. Each were ordered to hand over all the guns to be destroyed. The Storm Troopers were there to kick your guts out or kill you if you hesitated to cough up your uncle's relic handgun from WW1 or that squirrel rifle you used to put a little meat on the table.

On another historic note. During WW2, the Japanese had a conferance deciding whether or not to invade the U S A mainland. One of the highest commanders expressed his opinion to the effect"....behind EVERY BLADE of grass there is a farmer, hunter or everyone with a rifle and we will be slaughtered!" So they stayed home.

Now back to the Hitler/SS troops story. Ever wonder just what happened to those good folks that obeyed Hitler's gun grab?

Over 6,000,000 were herded up like helpless sheep into boxcars, hauled off to detention centers....and died there.
