Howdy Doody
by JD Bedwell
Boss, he say to count them dry cows as they stampede through the brushy thicket.
I says "I'll do what I can but I ain't no Howdy Doody tally man !"
Boss, he say "Build a good strong fence through this rocky boulder ravine."
I say "I'll do what I can but I ain't no Howdy Doody miracle man!"
Boss, he say "When it gona rain and break the drought in this parched land?"
I says, I don't know, it's the Lord's plan and I ain't no Howdy Doody weather man!
Pretty school marm say "Tex, take me for a horseback ride all over the 30,000 acre ranch!"
I say, " Yes ma'am , I am EXACTLY your ridin' guidin' Howdy Doody man!"
